F.A.Q
What is a gravimetric dilution ?
A gravimetric dilution is a dilution calculated with the weight of a sample (for example : a 25 g sample diluted at 1/10 must weight 250 g at the end of the dilution. The dilutor adds 225 g of diluent). This allow for an ultra-precise and rapid dilution because the sample is weighed permanently during the distribution of liquid. This is an important step in the microbiological analysis because it is essential to dilute a sample before blending then analyze it.
What are Gravimat®’s features ?
Gravimat® is very useful for microbiological analysis that require traceability. You can perform gravimetric dilution and liquid distribution. Gravimat® It is also a high precision balance.
What are Gravimat®’s advantages ?
Gravimat® gravimetric dilutor is user-friendly, reliable, quick and evolutive. The dilutions are repeatable and reproducible, ensuring your laboratory the greatest accuracy and quality. You can connect on the Gravimat® any LIMS, the printer and the barcode reader, to ensure sample’s traceability.
What are the application areas of Gravimat® ?
Gravimat® is widely used in food microbiology, pharmaceutical, medical and environmental analysis. It ensures traceability of your sample countings and offer a considerable time-saving, making laboratory work more reliable, more enjoyable and more efficient. It is also used in industrial analysis laboratories. It can also be used in chemical dilution and in fragrance industries.
What is Gravimat®’s accuracy ?
For a sample weight superior to 1 g, it is less than 0,05 g of the sample weighing and more than 99% of the distibuted diluent mass.
For liquid distribution, accuracy is 0,1 g.
How long does it take to perform a dilution with Gravimat® ?
The dilution time of Gravimat® is very quick: less than 20 seconds for 250 ml. With the "booster kit", optional, it became less than 10 seconds.
Can I connect two diluents simultaneously ?
Yes. thanks to the two pumps, you can connect two diluents simultaneously. With the optionnal stand for broth bags, you can also use broth bags.
Is traceability ensured ?
Yes. Gravimat® has a RS 232 port to connect a printer (option) and can be connected to a LIMS system. Printed data are : pump selection, accuracy, sample weight, total weight and the dilution or distribution factor.
Is it easy to clean ?
Yes. Gravimat® is stainless steel to make cleaning easier, and all the electronic parts are protected.
What is delivered with Gravimat® ?
Gravimat® comes with one or two pumps, 2 tubings per pump and a BagFilter® filter-bags sample pack.
Does Gravimat® require a lot of maintenance ?
No, it’s a device that requires only little maintenance because it is robust and stainless steel. Thanks to its design, the circuit board is protected from liquid projections.
